1. Personal Use
Every Tinks purchase includes a personal use licence at no additional cost. This covers:
- Making items for your own home or personal use
- Gifting handmade items to friends or family (not for sale)
- Personal craft and creative projects not intended for commercial distribution
Personal use does not cover any resale, commercial production, or public distribution of items made with the design.
2. Commercial Use
The commercial licence allows you to use the design in items produced for sale, up to a limit of 500 individual units. This covers:
- Selling finished goods incorporating the design (cushions, garments, accessories, etc.)
- Interior design client specifications (wallpaper, upholstery fabric, soft furnishings)
- Fabric, wallpaper, and print-on-demand production for sale
- Brand and product design use within the unit limit
The 500-unit limit applies to each individual design per licence purchase. Multiple licences can be purchased for extended runs.
3. Premium / Exclusive Licence
The premium licence removes all production unit limits and provides full commercial freedom for trade, fashion, and contract applications. Optional design exclusivity can be added, which removes the design from the Tinks catalogue entirely.
Exclusivity pricing depends on the design and its current sales history. Contact us to discuss.
4. What is not permitted
Regardless of licence tier, the following are not permitted:
- Reselling or redistributing the original design files
- Offering the designs as part of a digital download or design file bundle
- Claiming the design as your own original artwork
- Significant restructuring and resale as a new design product
- Use in NFTs or blockchain-based digital asset products without prior written agreement
5. Modifications
Minor adaptations, such as recolouring within your design software, are permitted under commercial and premium licences. Contact us if you need a custom colourway or significant design modification; we offer a bespoke service for this.
